Choosing the perfect bridal gown for your wedding day can be overwhelming, frustrating and sometimes just down right confusing! We have been helping brides for 25 years and have found there are some common questions. With this in mind and to help make your experience more enjoyable, here are a few frequently asked questions, any other questions just give us a bell.
How long should I expect my appointment to last when trying on Gowns?
You can take your time choosing your perfect wedding dress with our complimentary one-to-one appointment only service. With personal and professional attention, you can leisurely browse through our gorgeous collection of bridal gowns. In general our bridal appointments last an hour and a half.
What if I am getting married in less than 5 months?
If you have less than 5 months to order a gown it is possible to purchase one of our sample/stock gowns, and most designers will offer a rush order service. Ultimately the more time you have the more choice you will have.
When should I buy accessories?
Made to order and bespoke accessories can take up to two months to be made. As soon as you have chosen your gown it is important to start to think about accessories. We advise an accessories appointment to come in and have a play with all our lovely sparkly bits and bobs.
When do I have my gown fitted?
We would aim that your first appointment with the seamstress would be around 6 weeks prior to your wedding date, and this fitting will be approximately 45 minutes. This appointment will be for pinning only, so please ensure you have chosen all of your accessories prior to this appointment.
What do I need to bring to my fitting?
The time with the seamstress is important as you will get an idea of how your dress will look on the day. This is why it is imperative that you have sorted out your shoes, underwear, and any accessories that you will be wearing with the dress. PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BRING YOUR SHOES AND UNDERWEAR TO EVERY APPOINTMENT WITH THE SEAMSTRESS.
Can I bring friends to my appointments?
You are welcome to bring friends and family along to your bridal appointment, however please be aware that too many people can make the experience feel quite busy. Appointments with the seamstresses are precious, therefore we would kindly ask that you limit the number of people that you bring along to this appointment so that we can operate as smoothly and quickly as possible. From previous experience, we have learnt that pins, scissors and small children do not mix well
What if I am losing weight for my wedding?
Please do not feel you need to lose weight before you start to try on gowns. If you wish to do so for your wedding fear not, we can take measurements and discuss sizing. Our seamstresses can always take gowns in however we are limited on how much we can let a gown out.
